Light beams shine through a stormy sky to illuminate the 30-square-mile expanse of sand dunes at Great Sand Dunes #NationalPark & Preserve in #Colorado. Photographer Ryan Resatka did a strenuous hike up one of the tallest dunes @greatsanddunesnps to capture this spellbinding view: “I took this picture just as I noticed sunbeams shooting through the clouds across the adjacent valley -- it was spectacular.” After a hike through the sand (where there are no designated trails), take a splash in the seasonal Medano Creek at the base of the dunes.
