Remote and rugged, the #Farallon National #WildlifeRefuge protects an incredible bounty of avian and mammalian #wildlife. These rocky islands, located 30 miles west of the Golden Gate Bridge in #California, sustain the largest sea bird breeding colony south of Alaska. Thirteen species -- adding up to one-quarter of a million individuals -- breed here, including the largest colonies of Brandt s cormorant and western gull found anywhere.
